FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS - Absorbance Microplate Reader
BMG LABTECH's FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS is an entry-level microplate reader for UV/Vis absorbance assays.
The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS supports a wide variety of absorbance microplate-based assays including:
- ELISA, enzyme immuno assays
- Reporter gene assays
- Cell proliferation and apoptosis
- Microbial growth
- NADH / NADPH detection
- Protein, DNA and RNA quantitations

The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS has other features most basic ELISA readers lack. It can be equipped with up to two reagent injectors to initiate fast kinetic reactions, gas vent connection, incubation up to 45°C or even up to 60°C, multi-mode shaking capability, and much more. The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS can also be incorporated into a wide array of robotic systems. For mid-throughput plate handling, BMG LABTECH offers the 50 microplate Stacker with an integrated barcode reader.
The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS comes with user-friendly and intuitive OPTIMA Reader Control Software as well as comprehensive Data Analysis Software, MARS. It allows one-click calculation of DNA concentration, standard curve plots, error bars, standard deviations, IC50 / EC50s, live-dead ratios and enzyme kinetic calculations. BMG LABTECH's advanced hardware, combined with our powerful data analysis tools, results in better data, faster.
The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS allows users the flexibility to upgrade with addional detection modes at any time. If your lab can envision the need to detect luciferase or GFP in the future, this is a platform that can be quickly upgraded with luminescence or fluorescence detection. Fluorescence polarization and Simultaneous Dual Emission detection can also be added when the need arrives.
