Description
Zymed's MaxArray™ Breast Receptor Control Cell block consists of control cell lines embedded in a paraffin block. The paraffin block can be cut as any regular paraffin block on a standard microtome into 100 Ð 120 slides, without any additional equipment. The cell lines are paraffin-embedded after controlled fixation in buffered formalin for 24 hours. The control slides for receptor cell analysis in breast cancer contain 4 cores: a negative control cell line for orientation, Estrogen Receptor (ER) positive cell line, Progestrone Receptor (PR) positive cell line and a cell line with HER2 over-expression. The cell lines will show a different staining pattern after IHC staining with ER, PR and HER2 antibodies. The small surface area of the control slide is advantageous as it allows side-by-side analysis of the sample tissue specimen (e.g. breast cancer specimen) and the control cell lines. Simply mount your tissue sample of interest directly on the control slide. When stained together, this system provides an "On-Slide-Control-Staining" (OSC-Staining), which enables you to archive the stained control together with the investigated sample, proving, even after years, the reliability of your staining.
