Description
Solid phase extraction through columns is a well-known separation technique in a wide range of applications. Typical applications are in DNA/RNA extraction in microbiology, viral RNA isolation in diagnostics, or compound purification in chemical or analytical laboratories.
This has been fully automated on the Genesis series instruments for smaller scales. The extraction is usually performed in 96-well cartridge blocks. These are placed on a vacuum chamber on the instrument worktable and are evacuated by the software-controlled vacuum pump Te-VacS. Smoothly regulated pressure allows safe and clean extractions.
The system can be fully assembled by the RoMa arm for automation in continuous high-throughput processes.
