Our lab works with different mouse models to study different aspects of HIV infection. We use this kit to isolate viral RNA from mouse plasma. We use the RNA isolated with this kit in RT-PCR to detect HIV viral load in these mice following different types of treatment.

consistently get high yields and purity of RNA from mouse plasma. We prefer this kit to the "Viral RNA mini kit" because it allows us to elute the RNA in a smaller volume and therefore gives us higher RNA concentration.
