We study extracellular matrix in the Drosophila melanogaster heart. Pericardin is one such matrix protein in the fly heart which can change in expression with age. We needed an antibody to not only stain the pericardin protein in order to visualize, but also to quantify relative protein changes with age. We selected this product since it was the only available product out there, and it worked great once we optimized staining protocol.

Results Summary

Great Results. Beautiful staining. Bright and easily quantifiable between samples. Pericardin is a protein with domains closely homologous to collagen IV, but this antibody only stains Pericardin and not the Drosophila Collagen IV protein [Viking] which is entirely different. Highly recommend this antibody for use in staining Pericardin in Drosophila melanogaster.
