This was a great kit to use if you are screening for stressors or drugs to effect cell viability. It is quick and easy and you just need a plate reader!
Cell Viability Assay
PC12 cells
Culture your cells in 96 or 384 well format. Equilibrate to RT for a few minutes and add the Cell Titer Glo Reagent to the plate (volume equal to the amount of media in plate). Shake for 2 minutes. Incubate 10 minutes. Measure luminescence via plate reader.
Easy! Helps to have fast orbital shaker - 3000+ rpm to induce cell lysis.
The plate reader will spit out the luminescence readings per well. The higher the reading the more live cells you have per well. We take the readings and subtract the background of a well without cells in it, only media and reagent. It is also good to have a positive and negative control to see your extremes, and all the other samples should lie in the middle.

Does not work well if you are expecting small changes as there is variability between replicates
Definitely use this kit if you need a cell viability assay. Its very easy and only takes ~15 minutes total!
