Company:

Abcam

Product Name:

Mouse monoclonal (2G10) to beta-III-tubulin

Catalog Number:

ab78078

This antibody did a good job as a dendrite marker for immunostaining, but was not usable for our assays due to the high background staining that appeared at speckles across the plate.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Immunofluorescence

Sample

Primary Mouse Neurons

Primary Incubation

1:750 in 5% Donkey Serum overnight at 4C

Blocking Agent

10% Donkey Serum at RT 1hr

Secondary Incubation

1:400 Dylight donkey anti-mouse

Tertiary Incubation

None

Detection

Fluorescent Microscope

Results Summary

Antibody had a strong signal for the dendrites, but had background speckled reactivity that resulted in us not being able to use it for any automated analysis. We tried titrating the primary dilution down, but this did not help. We have not tried it on non-mouse samples which might be the problem.
