Product Name:

Mouse PDGF R beta Antibody

Catalog Number:

AF1042

The aim is to stain mouse skin pericytes. This antibody seems to work. However, the other cells in the skin also were stained. If you are looking for an antibody just for pericytes in mouse skin, it may not be the good choice. Anti-desmin is probably a better candidate.

Results Summary

We used CD31 (stained in red) as the endothelial cell marker. The orange stained cells are double positive for CD31 and pericytes. However, you can see green stained cells in the other parts of the skin. So PDGFRb in the skin is not specific for pericytes. It may be expressed by other cells such as smooth muscle cells, myofibroblasts and mesenchymal stem cells.

The Bad

Not exclusively for skin pericytes

The Bottom Line

It works in mouse skin, but it is probably not a good choice for exclusive skin pericyte staining.
