EZBlueTM Gel Staining Reagent

Catalog Number:

G1041-500ML

Aim of the experiment was to detect proteins in sample by SDS-PAGE. Our sample proteins (milk casein), 20 microlitre per well was loaded and electrophoresced in SDS-PAGE. Once the tracking dye, bromophenol blue dye reaches the anode, the current was turned off and gel was removed from the glass plates. The gel is stained with EZBlueTM Gel Staining Reagent for the detection of protein bands. The reason for selecting this product is its specificity towards protein, therefore it gives less background color and the time required for protein detection was reduced.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Protein bands detection after electrophoresis

Starting Material

Proteins separated by SDS-PAGE gel

Protocol Overview

SDS-PAGE was carried out till the bromophenol blue dye reaches the bottom of the gel. Gel was removed from the glass plates and stained with the EZBlueTM Gel Staining Reagent. The protein bands were detected immediately and background staining was also reduced. Removal of background staining requires less time than the conventional destaining solution.
