Our lab has generated a mouse model which expresses three transgenic human host factors and support acute HIV infection. We are interested in examining HIV infection in the brains of these mice, and therefore we purify microglia using enzymatic digestion of the brain and CD11b purification to perform different infection studies.

Transgenic mouse brain enzymatically digested and separated from myelin
1;50 dilution; 30 min at 4 degrees celcius
FcR blocking using a previous antibody incubation for 30 min at 4 degrees

The positive population os not very bright and sometimes gating can be a bit tricky, but the antibody definitely stains the CD11b + population.
