In order to detect the response of cells to certain stimuli, the detection of total STAT3 is not enough. Detection of tyrosine phosphorylation of STAT3 at Tyr705 is used widely in the literature. We decided to try this method using this antibody since we already got and used BioLegend's "total" STAT3 antibody.

The results are encouraging showing p-STAT3 (solid black line) at levels above background (filled grey histogram) but certainly less than total STAT3 (dotted black line).
Easy to use, relatively cheap
It seems that the combination of BioLegend's STAT3 and STAT3 Phospho (Tyr705) Antibodies work well for flow cytometry.
