The aim of the experiment was to determine the levels of IL-6 produced in supernatants of macrophages stimulated under various conditions. It was required to determine below ng levels of cytokine and this kit allows for the determination into femtogram levels. Hence, it was chosen.

Summary

The Good

Determines very low levels of cytokine too easily. Experiments are completed in one day easily.

The Bad

I forgot to mix the beads once and lost the signal. So really mixing well for one minute is very important.

The Bottom Line

Overall, good kit with reasonable pricing to determine low levels of cytokine in one day without having to coat the plate and do long washes that take forever.
