Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 (PARP-1), also designated PARP, is a stress protein that is also a marker for apoptosis.  PARP also has the ability to induce programmed cell death, via the production of PAR, which stimulates mitochondria to release AIF. We used this molecule to detect apoptosis upon treatment.
