Molecular biology research involves identification, characterization and functional analysis of DNA, RNA and proteins. To understand the cellular processes at the molecular level, recombinant protein production is often desired. To purify and detect the recombinant proteins, certain tags such as myc, flag  and his6 are used. Flag tag is often used for immunoprecipitation related experiments. We used Flag tag antibody to detect the recombinant protein  levels post purification.
