The antibody C0266 from Assay BioTech against MMP did not produce any meaningful results in western blot with the lysates from human tumor cells known to express MMP-14. The antibody recognized 2 protein bands of wrong mol. wt.: Under reducing conditions there should have been a band of ~60 kDa, which would correspond to the full length MMP-14. Instead, the prominent bands of ~180 and 18 kD were detected by the antibody C0266.
This anibody appear to be identical to the antibody TA312180 sold by Origene
Two major bands, both of wrong mol. wt.
I would not recommend this antibody for detection of MMP-14.
