Based on the previous basic research of our group, we would like to detect the caveolin-1 levels in ischemic stroke patients. In our first pilot study, we have about 20 healthy subjects and 36 stroke patients' plasma. We have tested the caveolin-1 levels using different kits from different companies, we found Abbexa's kit has the best quality- very good sensitivity and specificity.

Plasma will be collected with EDTA as the anticoagulant. Mix for 20min approximately. Centrifuge at 3000g for 15min with 30min of collection. And store at -80℃ for detection. Caveolin-1 Elisa kit (Abbexa) is based on sandwich enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay technology.

By detecting the level of cav-1 in 36 patients and 20 healthy control subjects, our results showed that plasma cav-1 level was significantly decreased after stroke onset and the difference last until 14 days.
