MafA is an islet enriched transcription factor that is present in ~85% of all islet beta cells. It is specifically expressed in beta cells. We aimed to optimize staining conditions in pancreatic mouse cryosections for MafA.

MafA was detected in nearly all Insulin+ cells in the mouse islets. No cross reaction within alpha cells that specifically express MafB, a close Maf family member of MafA.
