This product is routinely used for screening bacterial colonies for the correct insert size. I also use this to amplify insert of a vector using the same protocol.

The following reaction is pipetted: 46 ul platinum supermix hifi1 ul water1 ul 10mM forward primer1 ul 10mM reverse primer1 ul template DNA (1ng) or denatured colony DNA
Make master mixes to be consistent between tubes.
5ul of the PCR reaction is pippetted into an E-gel. Bright bands are typically seen.

No need to add other reagents such as ATP or dNTPs.
Can go through a lot of product if you have a lot of samples (such as for colony pcr).
Good product because it simplifies the process and is reliable.
