Mettler Toledo XSE 105DU analytical balance was used to measure 30 mg of DTT and 100g of tris base. DTT was dissolved in 2D rehydration buffer and Tris base was used to prepare pH 8.8 buffer.

Weighing paper or boat was placed in balance, closed all glass doors and set to zero. DTT was added to weighing paper or Tris base to boat and desired weight was measured.

This electronic balance was efficient enough to measure as low as 30mg of DTT and as high as 100g of tris-base with no variation. When these samples were weighed again, it gives same result as accurate with an error of 0.1%.
