This is used to mount immunostained cells onto slides. The product contains anti-fade to prolong fluorescence. It also contains DAPI, which means no pre-staining for nuclei before mounting.

Immerse the cells on the slide in Prolong Gold. Add cover slip and let cure in a dark place. Look at cells on the microscope
It's pretty viscious so warm up with hands prior to applying
Prolong gold has been good for immunofluorescence with no discernible loss of fluorescence signal after looking at them for awhile. Also, the nuclei of these cells have good nuclear staining. It may not be as bright as adding dye prior to mounting but it is acceptable.
