This kit offers an easy to follow protocol for RNA isolation. It is a quick protocol, but maybe its biggest advantage is that you can do the lysis step on the plate/flask! This is very useful when dealing with small numbers of cells or fragile cells that you could lose if you have to centrifuge.

The kit includes the lysis buffer which you can add directly to the cells on the plate. It performs the lysis in less than 5 minutes, and then the rest is just loading material on spin columns (the rest takes about 20 minutes).
It's a good idea to use beta-mercaptoethanol.
Results are good, showing decent quantity and quality RNA. As shown in the example figure, the 260/280 and 260/230 ratios are OK. The number of cells used was.
