I used to directly FACS sort cells into Trizol reagent to keep the integrity of RNA. However, isolation of RNA from Trizol usually takes multiple steps and is a long, time-consuming process. This kit can directly isolate RNA from Trizol within 10 minutes and is a fantastic kit to use.
RNA isolation from Trizol lysate
FACS sorted thymic epithelial cells in Trizol
1. Mix Trizol (with cells) thoroughly and wait for 5 mins. 2. Add equal volume 100% ethanol and mix thoroughly. 3. Load mixed lysate into Zymo-Spin IC column and spin 30s 4. Follow the instruction for 2x RNA pre-wash and 1x final RNA wash. Each spin is 30s 5. Elute the RNA in 15ul H2O
