FoxP3 is expressed by regulatory T cells (Treg) in mice and is a master regulator of Treg function. Since FoxP3 is a transcription factor, it requires intracellular staining. Most antibodies cannot stain FoxP3 in the nucleus; so the expression is not bright. This clone from eBioscience shows bright and distinct staining for FoxP3+ Tregs.
Flow Cytometry
Lymphocytes
1:200 in FoxP3 staining buffer for 1 hour
NA
Flow Cytometry - FITC channel
A nice and distinct population of FoxP3+ cells is seen. The frequency of FoxP3+ cells within CD4 T cells was consistent with existing literature.
None
Distinct staining
Requires long incubations and permeabilization
This is the perhaps the best antibody for staining FoxP3. Use it with the FoxP3 staining buffer kit from eBioscience.
