Histology Services

I brought fixed tissues (mouse kidneys and eyes) to Ward's Scientific in tissue cassettes in 70% ethanol. The tissues were embedded in paraffin and then sectioned onto our labeled Superfrost slides according to our request, to include specific structures of each tissue. The slides were ready within 5 business days.

The slides are being used for immunohistochemistry. We are storing the tissue blocks for future use/sectioning.

I highly recommend Ward's Scientific for histology services. They are well-suited to high-throughput slide preparation, yet provide personalized service. In addition to embedding and sectioning, special stains are also available (such as H&E) upon request. For those outside the Rochester area, they can accept shipments of samples by mail.
