Company:

Sigma-Aldrich

Product Name:

ANA-12

Catalog Number:

SML0209-5MG

We are performing compound toxicity and signalling studies on diverse neuronal cell lines. We used this product to check the role of BDNF-TrkB in neurotrophic activity. The product is specific to the TrkB inhibition.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Neurotrophic activity

Starting Material

Neurobalstoma cells (N2A cells)

Protocol Overview

Cells were plated on coverslips in a 6-well plate (10000 cells/cm2), after 24h of plating, cells were changed with serum free medium, after 6h cells were treated with ANA-12 (10uM) for 24h, cells were fixed in 4% PFA and bright field images were captured.

Tips

Concentration of ANA-12 need to be standardised.

Results Summary

Compared to untreated cells, in ANA-12 treated N2A cells the Neurite outgrowth is less.
