The aim of my research was to understand methylation status on genomic DNA isolated from CD4+ T helper cells. I wanted to use the DNeasy kit to isolate genomic DNA from specific subsets of T helper cells, and this kit allowed me to do this quickly and easily.

I used the kit to isolate genomic DNA from freshly isolated CD4+CD25+ T cells. The protocol was laid out step-by-step by the company and easy to follow.

Results Summary

Following DNA isolation, I was able to successfully characterize the methylation status of DNA within desired gene regions. The isolated DNA was high quality and had nice purity levels when I looked at the ratio for the absorbance at 260 and 280 nm. Each sample was close to 1.8.
