I used this Gel DNA recovery kit to extract DNA from agarose fragments that were subsequently used for cloning purposes.
Gel DNA Recovery

Cut out agarose slab containing the DNA. Use kit to recover DNA. Check concentration and purity on Nanodrop.
Ethanol precipitate all the recovered DNA
The kit recovered the DNA but the 260/230 were extremely low, which indicates contamination.
Recovers DNA
Contamination issues
This kit will recover the DNA but it will also carry over contaminants. This requires further purification by ethanol precipitation to remove them.
