Making plasmids is an everyday challenge in research laboratories. A good gel extraction kit is critical for cleaning DNA inserts after restriction digestion or PCR from various resources. I have used this kit to make many plasmids. The major reason is high and easily clonable quality yield. Additionally, I have used this gel extracted DNA for sequencing.

After running PCR product on the gel, it was cleaned by a gel extraction kit. Final elution buffer used was 6ul.
Make sure to incubate column with elution buffer for 2-3 minutes before centrifugation.
After final step, I used this PCR product for ligation with the plasmid and I had 90-100% recombinants.

The best thing is that you can elute in smaller volumes. You can go to 3ul and it works.
I don't see any drawback for ligation.
I have compared it with other competitors like Qiagen and is far better and cheaper.
