This was used as the ladder when running Western blots to mark molecular weights on the gel. Used with 4-15% gels and transferred to PVDF membranes. Product was ordered to ensure molecular weight bands were marked correctly
Western blot
Protein from tissue or cell lines
Load 3 - 5 ul of ladder per well and run gel normally
Can use very little, ~3 ul, to make the product last longer
The bands show up easily on the gel but some of the bands may be faint when transferring to PVDF membrane. Also, if you strip your membrane a couple of times you will lose the intensity of some the bands but 100, 50, and 37 kDa are always visible when I've used it

Colors are easily distinguishable
Colors fade with gel stripping
Use with all Western blots gels as an alternative to ladders with bands of only one color.
