This is the go-to DNA ladder in our lab when we want to look at sizes between 100 bp and 10,000 bp. It is easy to mix and load onto the gel and is accurate in determining sizes as checked by running PCR products of known size.

Mix 1 ul 2-LOG ladder with 4 ul water and 1 ul 6X DNA loading dye (it works with any loading dye you have). Load onto the agarose gel and then run.
Use only 1-2 ul. Using more can cause very bright bands that may overshadow your samples.
Loading a PCR sample of known size (~2600 bp) on a 1% agarose gel, the band showed up roughly half way between the 2000 and 3000 bp markers as expected.
