Boekel Scientific

Product Name:

Rocker II

Catalog Number:

260350

The Rocker II from Boekel is a standard unit for the standard lab. The unit is sound in structure and has several accessories to assist the researcher in acquiring adequate rocking for their needs. Its longevity in a lab setting is as expected - 6 years and still running. The issue arises when the unit is used in a cold room. The longevity of the product drops significantly. The unit that was placed in the cold room survived 14 months before the parts rusted beyond conservable repair. This unit would serve a researcher well in a dry environment, but avoid moving it into a cold room for more than a few hours at a time.

The Bottom Line

I would purchase this item again if I was sure to only use it in dry conditions. For cold room usage I would look for a rocker that is sealed and has been rated to handle this environment.
