Leica DM5500 - Unattributed Review*

I do tissue culture and work in C. elegans. I image both fixed slides and agarose slides with C. elegans samples. I image cells with green fluorescence protein and also do immunofluorescence. The worms are transgenic, and I visualize their neurons. This microscope is perfect for both. It's very versatile, and does excellent work. Compared to Zeiss, Nikon and Olympus, this was very reasonably priced. The sales rep was also very helpful. As a new PI, it was difficult for me to decide on a microscope. However, after much deliberation, I purchased the DM5500 and I am very pleased.
