I bought this cell counter after researching automated cell counters. This has a smaller footprint and is fairly easy to use. My group works with colorectal cancer cell lines and this instrument is used on a daily basis for counting cells and determining viability. The work of a hemocytometer got simpler, faster. We compared the results of TC10 with a hemocytometer and found it to be fairly accurate. This comes with disposable slides that are the same in usage as a hemocytometer. Trypan blue dye also comes along. I can't think of cell culture without this anymore. It comes with a printer and has a dilution calculator and in built calibrator functions. I have been using it for 3 years now and it has required little maintenance and calibration.
