Our lab studies a specific subset of B cells. Our research focuses on determining the overall function of these B cells in both humans and mice. We further study the unique characteristics and functions of this subset of B cells on both the cellular and molecular level. In particular we examine the unique antibodies these B cells produce. We were especially interested in examining antibodies produced against a certain lipid. The Avanti ELISA Snoopers have been excellent in allowing us to examine these anti-lipid antibodies.

Screening serum and supernatants for particular anti-phospholipid antibodies.

Starting Material

Human and mouse serum or supernatant from cultured cells.

Protocol Overview

The pre-coated ELISA strips are blocked, washed, and then sample added. Afterwards, the samples are washed off and then the wells are incubated with your secondary detection method, such as IgM-HRP. After incubation with the secondary antibody the wells are washed and then developed with the appropriate developing reagent, which is dependent upon your secondary antibody.

These pre-coated wells delivered beautiful results in terms of detecting antibodies specific for the lipid coated onto the wells.

Summary

The Good

The best thing about this product is that it works and you can really optimize the ELISA to fit your specific needs.

The Bad

Not any bad aspects to these pre-coated wells. It would be nice if they came in an entire 96-well plate, but the 8-well strips are also convenient in terms of cost savings if you do not need an entire plate.

The Bottom Line

This is a great quality product. In addition, the customer support is amazing. They were very responsive to any and all questions I had.
