Krt5 was used as an epithelial marker in mouse embryonic limb development and digit separation. Limbs were sectioned at 2um and immunofluorescent stained for Krt5 using anti-Rabbit AlexaFluor 546 secondary antibody.
Immunofluorescence
Embryonic day 15.5 mouse limb, plastic embedded, sectioned at 2um
1:1000, incubated overnight at 4 degrees C, diluted in DAKO antibody diluent
DAKO serum-free protein block + 5% Normal Goat Serum
1:2000 Goat anti-Rabbit AlexaFluor 546 (2mg/ml), 2 hours at Room Temp, diluted in DAKO antibody diluent

Fluorescent microscope
Krt5 epithelial cells were very clearly labelled along the epidermal edge of the mouse paw. Background staining was almost completely absent.
DAPI used to stain nuclei. We have not used this antibody for any other applications.
Best antibody we have ever used for immunofluorescence!

It would be hard to find a better antibody for Krt5 in the mouse.
