I am looking into the stress response that stem cells show when exposed to cigarette smoke residue. My research specifically deals wit the stress response shown by the mitochondria.
The goal of this experiment is evaluation of the level of mitochondrial fusion protein mitofusin -1 in stem cells mitochondria. This product was chosen because adequate information was available on the product website to aid with the decision. The technical support was really good and helped throughout the optimization process.
Immunohistochemistry
Formaldehyde fixed stem cells
1:50 in 5% serum, overnight at 4 degree C

The antibody worked very well and labelled mitochondria. The florescence was bright and clean.
Permeabilization with triton X may be performed after fixation step to aid the entry of antibody into the fixed cells
The antibody is very specific
Dilution is 1:50 so it doesn't go a long way.
A good product combined with great technical support. Will definitely recommend.
