The SNAP-tag® labeling system enables the specific, covalent attachment of virtually any molecule to a protein of interest, providing simplicity and versatility in studying the role of proteins in living and fixed cells. Proteins are cloned as fusions with the SNAP-tag® and can be expressed in cells and labeled for fluourescent imaging or protein interaction assays including pull-downs. This system has proven to be particularly useful for pulse-chase and protein trafficking studies. Whole animal imaging and analysis is also possible.
