November 2009, Sunnyvale, CA—Dionex has released the AFC-3000 Automated Fraction Collector, a reliable and highly flexible fraction collector, ideally suited for preparative reversed-phase or normal-phase HPLC as well as purification of proteins, peptides, and nucleic acids. The AFC-3000 manages analytical and semipreparative to preparative flow rates, and collects fractions into a large variety of commonly used sample formats, including 96-well plates for small volume to bottles for large volume fraction collection. A funnel rack directs virtually unlimited volumes into any bottle or reactor.

The AFC-3000 is compatible with all solvents, buffers, acids, and bases, and can be equipped with an optional grounded drop for- mer for safe operation with normal-phase eluents. The fraction collector supports flow rates up to 150 mL/min, and has the smallest possible carryover due to minimized delay volume between the valve and drop former. An optional kit for improved performance at low flow rates is available. The AFC-3000 is ideally suited for working with the comprehensive Chromeleon® Chromatography Data System fraction collection features.
