Ribonucleotide triphosphates (rNTPs)

Ribonucleotide triphosphates, or rNTPs, are the monomeric building blocks that are consumed in the synthesis of an RNA oligonucleotide chain. They are composed of a ribose sugar, three phosphate groups, and one of four nitrogenous bases, corresponding to rATP, rCTP, rGTP, and rUTP. Commercially, rNTPs can be purchased in individual sets, or in a premixed solution containing equimolar amounts of each. rNTPs must be stored and reconstituted in nuclease-free water.
