Stem Cell Research Antibodies

Andrew Laslett's work at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Australia is focused on developing new tools for human pluripotent stem cell researchers and ultimately for an hPSC-based industry.

He and his team have made four new and unique monoclonal antibodies that are now exclusively available through the Invitrogen antibody portfolio at Thermo Fisher Scientific: desmoglein2, P-cadherin, CD318, and CD321. These clones are capable of detecting human pluripotent stem cells in their undifferentiated state. These antibodies detect proteins on the cell surface of hPSCs and are really useful for immunofluorescent staining and for flow cytometric analysis and sorting.

These clones were recently published as pluripotent stem cell markers by an international collaborative team including researchers from the Scripps Research Institute, Monash University, and UCLA.
