Scarab Genomics has launched the White Glove IS Detection Kit to detect and identify transposable Insertion Sequence elements (IS) in DNA. Transposition can lead to elements “hopping” into plasmid DNA (pDNA) and/or other regions of the bacterial genome. This may compromise genetic stability by contaminating pDNA and interfering with the expression of foreign proteins in E. coli. To address this issue, Scarab Genomics created the Scarab Genomics Clean Genome® strains, genetically ideal hosts for the production of foreign proteins or pDNA. The kit and the strains can be used in various research areas to improve efficiency and reliability without sacrificing accuracy.
