Applied StemCell Inc. offers full services on in vivo pluripotency characterization of human and mouse embryonic stem cells/induced pluripotent stem cells (ESCs/iPSCs) by teratoma formation analysis. Using a new kidney capsule injection technique, we have achieved over 90% success rate in producing teratomas with all three germ layers. This new technique is especially suitable for cells that are hard to obtain. The cell number is 0.5-1 million per site comparing to 3-5 million in a subcutaneous injection. The growth of tumors is much faster, with most tumors forming within 4 weeks.
