NutriStem™ XF/FF Culture Medium for human embryonic stem cell culture was developed specifically to address issues associated with serum, serum replacers and feeder layers that are commonly used in culture systems. The chemically defined conditions of this medium eliminate the risk of contamination from animal components, reduce lot-to-lot variability, result in predictable cellular behavior and may enable eventual use in clinical applications. NutriStem contains low levels of critical growth factors and has been tested with hES cells in feeder-free conditions for more than 20 passages. Cells cultured in NutriStem maintain pluripotency, verified by marker expression >95%, normal karyotype, and ability to differentiate to all three germ layers.
