Investigate the role or status of terminal complement pathway activation with quantitative detection of complement component C5a-des-Arg in human plasma, serum or other experimental samples. Elevated levels of C5a have been associated with pathogenesis of a variety of disease states including myocardial infarction, stroke, kidney injury, malaria and other infectious diseases. The MicroVue C5a Kit uses a proprietary monoclonal antibody to a neo-epitope on C5a to capture C5a in solid phase. Detection is accomplished using HRP-labeled antibodies to C5a antigens. The kit contains ready-to-use reagents, standards and controls in a 96-well format and requires less than 2 hours to perform.
