AllCells, LLC is pleased to introduce the Rat Pancreatic Islet cell product. This is isolated from SD (Sprague-Dawley) Rats with body weight between 301-325 grams and approximate age between 8.5-9.5 weeks. The purity and viability is assessed by DTZ (dithizone) and AO-PI (acridine orange-propidium iodide) stains, while the size and quantity (IEq, or islet equivalent) is determined by standard of measurement on electronic microscope. Islets are stabilized overnight prior to shipment. Applications include: Diabetic studies; GSIS Assay (glucose stimulated insulin secretion assay) for glucose and compounds; Short and long-term culture and survival experiments; Cryopreservation studies; and Immunosuppression studies for transplantation.
