The Pearl™ Imager small animal imaging system uses a new, proprietary CCD-based optical system specifically designed for in vivo imaging in the near-infrared (NIR) spectral region where tissue fluorescence and light scattering are low. The one-button image acquisition requires less than 30 seconds for capturing white light, 700 nm, and 800 nm images. The software can identify regions of interest with just one click of the Automatic ROI tool and play images sequentially for visual comparison. When used in combination with the Odyssey® Infrared Imager all in vivo and in vitro research can be preformed using the same dye.
