The Lambda XL is a broad spectrum light source with an expected bulb life in excess of 10,000 hours and very good short term stability, with fluctuations of +/- 1% peak to peak. In addition to its compact, stand-alone cabinet design, the Lambda XL can also accommodate a stand-alone SmartShutter™ or a Sutter filterwheel and SmartShutter™ within the body of the lamp, making it a versatile choice for fluorescence imaging applications. The light intensity can be adjusted to different levels of attenuation. When the optional filter wheel is used, each filter position can be associated with its own programmable attenuation level, selected every time a filter is called.
