Isopure™ - Buccal Cell DNA Isolation

Isopure™ - Buccal cell DNA isolation

The Isopure™ Buccal Cell DNA Kit is a simple, streamlined method for isolating cheek buccal cell genomic DNA for downstream applications such as PCR. The kit supports swab or Scope® mouthwash collection formats using SPRI® magnetic bead technology that eliminates the need for filtration or centrifugation. The Isopure Buccal Kit effectively and consistently delivers high purity and yield. The method can be run in tube or 96-well formats and can be easily automated for multi-microplate processing.

KEY FEATURES:
• Supports swab and mouthwash formats
• Easy-to-use protocol
• High recovery of DNA material
• Supports tube, 96-well or multi-microplate automation

EASY-TO-USE AND AUTOMATION COMPATIBLE
The Isopure Buccal Cell DNA Kit utilizes the power of SPRI (Solid Phase Reversible Immobilization) magnetic bead technology that allows for scalability, automation compatibility and a streamlined protocol. There is no need for filtration, centrifugation, use of chaotropic salts or corrosive detergents. SPRI beads also easily stay suspended in solution and do not catalyze precipitation.

SUPERIOR MICROPARTICLES – SUPERIOR PURIFICATIONS
The superior performance of SPRI is the result of the unique properties of the chemistry and the highlyengineered Sera-Mag microparticles manufactured by Seradyn. A proprietary core-shell manufacturing process results in complete iron encapsulation and highly uniform bead size. The non-silica, carboxylate-modified coating overcomes the limitations of silica-based purifications, such as high non-specific binding. The fast magnetic response time, extremely slow settling rates, and a high-surface area to mass ratio of the Sera-Mag microparticles make SPRI cost effective, highly efficient and automation-friendly.

RECOVERY AND YIELD:
The Isopure Buccal Cell method consistently delivers sufficient material to carry out several downstream PCR experiments.Yields can range from 50 to 1,000 ng depending on which collection method is employed. The Scope mouthwash method showed linear recovery in tests from 150-450 µL of starting source material.
