Product Characteristics: This antibody reacts with a 25 kDa molecular weight. The antigen is expressed on eosinophils, granulocytes, monocytes and numerous stromal cells. This CD9 antigen belongs to the TM4 superfamily of cell surface proteins with the N- and C-terminals cytoplasmically located. This antibody reacts immunohistochemically on frozen sections of platelets, monocytes and pre-B cells with differential staining on lymphoid and epithelial tissues.
Target Information: This gene encodes a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Tetraspanins are cell surface glycoproteins with four transmembrane domains that form multimeric complexes with other cell surface proteins. The encoded protein functions in many cellular processes including differentiation, adhesion, and signal transduction, and expression of this gene plays a critical role in the suppression of cancer cell motility and metastasis.
