anti-Integrin beta 3 Antibody

Description

Product Characteristics: This clone has been clustered to CD61 in the fourth international Workshop on Human White Cell differentiation Antigens. The antibody is specific to the 110kDa platelet glycoprotein gp IIIa and inhibits platelet aggregation and activation induced by thrombin and collagen. The platelet glycoprotein is the integrin -3 chain of the vitronectin receptor and GP IIb/IIIa. The antigen is present on platelets and megakaryocytes.
Target Information: The ITGB3 protein product is the integrin beta chain beta 3. Integrins are integral cell-surface proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. A given chain may combine with multiple partners resulting in different integrins. Integrin beta 3 is found along with the alpha IIb chain in platelets. Integrins are known to participate in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signalling. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
